Natl Superhero Day, embrace your inner Batman or Wonder Woman

Over the course of 365 days in a year, there’s a designated day to celebrate everything from pies to ties. On April 28 we find ourselves reveling in National Superhero Day, and Orlando is full of ways to party. Created in 1995 by Marvel employees, the idea is to honor those who serve and protect while fighting evil! Here are some ways to celebrate…

Walt Disney World Head over to Epcot for the Guardians of the Galaxy where Star-Lord and Gamora will join an alien band on a journey through the cosmos. This is a precursor to the new Epcot Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, opening by 2021.

If you’re in the Magic Kingdom, check out the Rocket Tower Stage in Tomorrowland for a dance party with The Incredibles.

Universal StudiosMarvel hosts a Character Dinner at Café 4 with visits from Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm and Rogue. Good food and lots of surprises.

At Universal’s Islands of Adventure, check out the 3D adventure with The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Hold onto your seats as you fly above the city streets and skyscrapers attempting to rescue the Statue of Liberty

 

 

 

 

Also, at Islands of Adventure, you can hop on The Incredible Hulk Coaster for a science experiment based on Dr. Bruce Banner’s research. “Hulk-like power propels you upside down into a weightless zero-gravity roll, racing faster and faster down the track.” Gulp!

Check out the daily gathering of allies and enemies on the streets of Marvel Super Hero Island. You might meet Dr. Doom, Captain America, Cyclops and The Green Goblin, and more.

Madame Tussauds Orlando will open a new attraction this summer with the “Justice League: A Call for Heroes” experience. Enjoy an immersive experience as a sidekick to Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman, fighting the evil Lex Luthor.

Megacon Orlando returns to town May 24-27, 2018. The Southeast’s largest comics, sci-fi and gaming event will allow you to experience celebrity panels, not to mention mingle with your favorite superheroes.

The Orlando Science Center is offering the summer traveling exhibit, “Hall of Heroes,” May 26 through September 3, where you’ll discover the origins of your favorite superheroes and test out the various powers and the science behind them.

So, no excuse to ignore your favorite superhero’s day, April 28 and all through the year. Orlando is full of opportunities to escape the madness of reality and immerse yourself in make-believe!
